This is a wonderful piece. Shojin Ryori is such a thoughtful response to our busy lives. It encourages us to be present and see cooking as something spiritual. Learning about the three Zen minds and giving thanks before each meal touches me in ways that I’ll never see a bowl of miso soup the same way again. Thank you for sharing your inspiring perspective on life. :)

Thank you so much for reading! I think so too, that's also a reason why I love this concept.

I try to give thanks before each meal and it has the power to change one's life in powerful ways we don't expect.

And you know what I've also noticed? Everything can be spiritual or sacred as long as we create the intention for it. A ritual is only a ritual because of the intention we set for it. Otherwise it would simply be an empty action. And if we think about it, we understand why all of life is so sacred :)
